Terms of Service

1. The Service

TomeMaester is a web tool that helps game masters run tabletop role-playing combat at the table, with a free companion app for players. It is provided by Massimo Mercurio, Via G. Lamberti 44, 84013 Cava de' Tirreni (SA), Italy ("we"). By creating an account you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Game masters approve the players who join their campaigns and are responsible for their table.

3. Free plan and Premium

  • The free plan lets you use the tracker and the player app with limits (for example the number of combatants, library entries and notes). The current limits are shown on our website and in the app. The player app is always free.
  • Premium is a paid subscription that raises the limits and unlocks extra features, such as images in notes and AI Import. Prices are shown before purchase. Subscriptions are sold by our reseller Paddle.com, which is the Merchant of Record for all orders: Paddle handles payment, invoicing, VAT, billing support and refunds under its own terms (paddle.com/legal). You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.
  • If your Premium ends, nothing is deleted or hidden. Content above the free limits stays available in read-only mode: you cannot add more until you are back under the limit or you renew.
  • We may set fair-use limits (for example a monthly number of AI conversions) to keep the Service sustainable.

4. Changes to the plans and to these Terms

We may change these Terms, the plans or their prices, for example to follow the law or changes to the Service. We will tell you the reasons by email and in the app: at least 15 days in advance for changes to these Terms, and at least 30 days in advance for a price change, which applies from your next renewal. If you do not accept a change, you can cancel or delete your account before it takes effect, at no cost.

5. Your content

  • You keep all rights to the content you create or upload (campaigns, monsters, notes, images).
  • You give us only the permission needed to store it and show it to you and to your table.
  • Upload only content you have the right to use. Do not upload copyrighted material you do not own (for example scans of entire commercial books), illegal content, or other people's personal data. You are responsible for the content you upload.
  • We may remove content that breaks these Terms or the law.
  • The character a player creates in a campaign belongs to that campaign: if the player leaves or deletes their account, the game master keeps the character sheet.
  • We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but we recommend keeping your own copy of content that matters to you.

7. Game rules content

The Service includes material from the System Reference Document 5.2 ("SRD 5.2") by Wizards of the Coast LLC, available at https://www.dndbeyond.com/srd. The SRD 5.2 is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode.

TomeMaester is an independent project, not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Wizards of the Coast.

8. Acceptable use

Do not:

  • try to access other users' data or accounts;
  • overload, attack or reverse-engineer the Service, or bypass its usage limits;
  • copy or redistribute our software, our name, logo or graphics, or collect data from the Service with automated tools (scraping);
  • use the Service to break the law or to harm others.

This does not restrict your use of your own content or of the SRD material, which stays under its license.

9. Reporting illegal content

To report content you believe is illegal, or for any request from authorities, write to contact@tomemaester.com (our single point of contact under the EU Digital Services Act). Tell us where the content is and why you believe it is illegal. We will review every report and tell you what we decided.

10. Availability

We work to keep the Service available, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue features.

11. Liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses or for loss of game data. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that consumers have under mandatory law.

12. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings: the deletion is immediate. We may suspend accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these Terms.

13. Law and contact

These Terms are governed by Italian law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence. Contact: contact@tomemaester.com.
